C&M designed
and fabricated a precision underwater rotator for use in the
Naval Underwater System Center's high pressure acoustic calibration
test tank. This rotator was comprised of:
Cylindrical
pressure-compensated housing containing an electric motor,
gearbox and shaft position sensor
Control
panel with manual positioning controls
Waterproof
interconnecting cable
The
rotator operated under hydrostatic test pressures up to 2000 psi
and met the following performance specifications:
