C&M designed
and fabricated a small portable pressure vessel to perform
hydrostatic pressure testing of "various explosive
devices" at pressures to 300 pisg for the Naval
Surface Wepons Center in Crane, IN. The vessel was designed
and tested in accordance with the ASME Pressure Vessel
Code. A counter weighted locking ring cover permits
ease of access. After a test item is loaded and the
tank is filled with water, it is pressurized with dry
nitrogen. Through use of a PID loop controller and an
accurate, tank mounted pressure transducer, pressure
ramp rates of between 10 psi per min. and 300 psi per
min. can be selected.
